This is one of the oldest dance groups in the area. The group dates back to before Kenya’s independence in 1963, and they have a long history of performing in local events in additional to national.
The group consists of 25 women, all in between 75 and 85 years old. They wear traditional skirts and shoes, and their dance is traditional. Their wish is to preserve their culture, and pass traditions forward to younger generations.
In addition to dancing and preserving cultural heritage, they support and help each other when needed. In spite of their age, the members are very entertaining, sweet and welcoming old ladies, that are guaranteed to lift your spirit!
